Acid Totem has always been known for throwing outdoor parties all over Northern California, as far North as Mendocino all the way down to Big Sur. Throughout our 7 years of existence, our yearly Smoke Out party has quickly grown to become our flagship event. After witnessing an absolutely insane turnout for 2009's party, we figured it time that we move the event to private land- it gets kinda hard trying to hide 600 ravers, burners, and party kids along with their cars no matter how far in the cuts you trek!
This year we're relocating to the event to the the grounds of the Lupin Lodge which sits in the Santa Cruz Mountains, less than 20 minutes from San Jose and Santa Cruz. We'll have two areas of sound, a full restaurant, beer and wine bar. Unlike years past, the sound stages will be indoors, but there's plenty of area to frolic around on the grounds of Lupin!
About Lupin:
Lupin Lodge is a beautiful nudist resort in the mountains above the Lexington Reservoir in Los Gatos, so please don't be surprised if you see a naked person here or there. Lupin is also a place for free spirits and open minds, however, due to the fact it is a nudist resort, they do take sexual harassment and unwanted advances very seriously. There is also no photography allowed at the event. There will be a beer and wine bar running til 2am for the 21 up. Also, tent camping is available on the deck if you'd like to stay overnight. Tent cabins and yurts can also be reserved by contacting Lupin.com.
The Music and Talent!!!
Let us just stay we're super stoked to have all of our special guests grace the Smoke Out this year. Now we're not going to sit here and tell you DJ Superstar Glue Sniffer is the #3 DJ in the world, but what we will tell you is that we booked these guys for a reason. Like parties in the early to mid 90s, we also spent a lot of time thinking about the ebb and flow of the musical energy. The main area will feature more uptempo beats and all of our special guests, while the Nudome yurt will feature a more chilled out attitude with sounds like funk, dub, trip hop, atmospheric drum n bass and more.
